Canada 2010

No sparkly snowflakes this year but Canada and the ornaments kind of shine when the stamp is on an angle to the light.

In the early sixties when only a few countries issued Christmas stamps
I used to look forward every year in purchasing the newest ones from New Zealand.
At the time because of their multicolour photogravure printing I thought they were the most beautiful ever issued.

But after awhile the never ending nativity scenes do get boring and
New Zealand started issuing different themes for Christmas.

litho, I have several of those NZ stamps that have come in accumulations over the years, but I never absorbed how great they look...they sure benefit from your snappy scans.

Well thanks Kirk and Cjd, like I said fifty years or so ago
I thought they looked fantastic compared to most stamps but now of
course compared to modern photo/litho printing they look just ordinary.
I believe they were all printed by Harrison & Sons who at that time
were the premier printers for photogravure and maybe Courvoisier

Lovely scans,
