Hello, my name is Brian and I just started collecting Revenue/BOB stamps (I'm completely new to stamps in general) and I was wondering which of these books would be more informative on these issues?

''Introduction To United States Revenue Stamps'' by Richard Friedberg...or,

''An Introduction Introduction To Revenue Stamps'' by Bill J. Castenholz

I've been lurking on this forum for a couple weeks now and have learned a bunch just from you guys, but It's always nice to have a book to read up on a subject.
If you guys know any other titles that would be helpful in learning about these stamps please let me know.

Thanks.

Welcome NeoRev:

We're glad you've decided to register and join the conversations. While you're waiting on feedback about the books, be sure to post a message in the introduction forum so everyone else can meet you.

I can't answer your question, but I'm sure Eric (revstampman) or some of the others will be familiar with these books.

Brian, I strongly recommend getting, ''Introduction To United States Revenue Stamps'' by Richard Friedberg. It is an excellent book. It is well written and packed with useful information. Plus if you want more info just call or email Rich, He is always willing to help. I have personally known Rich, His Wife, and His Girls, for 20-25 years maybe more! I have also been doing business with Him for about the same. A true top notch Guy! I am always willing to assist as well, I have been a serious Rev collector for well over 30 years.

Thank you for the warm welcome KirkS, I'll be sure to post an introduction.

Thanks for the quick response revstampman, I'll definitely go ahead and order Mr. Friedberg's book and get studying.
I'll have to take some pics of my first little batch of revenues for my next post!

So the book arrived a few days ago and wow! After reading only the first few pages I've learned so much. There's also some recommendations on some other books to get that go into more detail on separate issues, so I know what to read when I'm done this book.
