1935 - Too Late For A Bar Cancel???

I'm going through a small batch of older US stamps this Monday morning. No discoveries so far, but this struck me as odd. Forgive my ignorance of US postal history, but isn't 1935 a bit late for a bar cancel? It looks like a throwback to the 19th century!

jimjam, No I have examples into the early 1960's. Many smaller post offices used these for a long time.

This is not at all late for that type of cancel. Here's a similar cancel coming from Hawaii in 1943:

jimjam, some were individual stamps often used for parcel post but most were duplex
