Hello all,
I drifted over from the coin group, even though I have as much philately material as coins. I retired as a college professor after 37 years in the sciences, and now trying to de-accumulate a lot of my material, as I am running out of cabinets. I started as a youngster about 55 years ago and still have that old album :) Then over the years I accumulated auction lots, trades, etc. I collect mainly world before 1940 and US before 1960. Specialty collections of Swiss, France, Antarctica, and others. Love fantasy issues like Atlantis, etc :) Anyway, coins, gems, and stamps....kinda like money, guns, and lawyers.

We are glad you're here! I gravitate back and forth between the coin and stamp forum. But I really like it here ! Please share some of your stamp photos with us! Thanks! Gussyboy1 |

Well I can't keep all 3 going!! The stamps are more relaxing than the gems or coins, just as long as I don't breathe too much watermark fluid. But the coins and gems use acetone, so maybe I am a little dingedbrain. My main goal is to reduce my coins and stamps into manageable collections for myself and my family. I really like the early US stamps and will probably try to upgrade that area. I notice the traffic is a little slower here than my other forums, so maybe I can keep up to date at least :) Love to look at old postings.

Hi All,
posted some covers from my antarctic collection in world covers forum and some swiss in general forum. I appreciate the asking as it made me start looking for things and noticing that I need to do some maintenance on my collection. Found my Zepps, but not my Atlantis cinderellas nor Rattlesnake Island which I was going to post in that forum...Almost the same excitement of yesteryear :)

Thanks Amitvyas03,
I have seen a lot of Iolite from India also! This one came from Africa, but they are all nice gems!
