i found some Reagan Inauguration Day covers - 6 of them to be exact and was wondering how many different ones were made?

on 2 of them the cachet (i hope that is the right term for the artwork on the left side of the cover)is Ronald Reagan one is postmarked Tampico,Il. the other Dixon,Il

another 2 has Ronald & Nancy Reagan postmarked in Pacific Palisades Ca. & the other postmarked in Washington D.C.

the other 2 the cachet has the Presidential Seal one is a Ronald Reagan postmarked in Hastings,Ne.
the other is George Bush postmarked in Milton Ma.

so,my question how many more do I need to have a set?

any info about them would be appreciated.
thanks,
T.J

A quick answer for you is that there are probably a lot of cachets made for Presidential Inaugurations. I suspect all of the major cachetmakers (i.e. Artcraft, Artmaster, Fleetwood, etc.) all had special covers for the specific occasion canceled both in Washington, DC and in their home state and/or birthplace.

Artcraft is probably the most common cachetmaker and they used to issue a small pamphlet with all of the cachets and cancels listed for each President. I have one in my files somewhere but can't put my hands on it at this moment. Nevertheless, most of the same information is now on-line at this link:

Hope this is helpful.
