The bottom three stamps, compared to the normal top three, is this a known variety?

Not sure about that myself, but they look a bit faded to me, just an opinion.

Hi Puzzler

If you look carefully you can see the gradual colour change on the bottom three compared to the top three. They have been locked away in a tin for a long time, so there was no chance of them fading.

Could have faded before being put in the tin or even before soaked off the mailing.

The brown background does look faded to me also, that is why I mentioned it.

But I am hoping someone who might have a catalog or knowledge specific to this issue would chime in.

I am just making a best guess.
