Hi to all

I know that I have posted a lot, but this accumulation is so interesting. According the the Lincoln Catalogue of circa 1890 the green coloured stamp of 1887should have machine perforations. but it looks imperf to me. The other is a newspaper stamp

Regards,
Horamakhet

It does H,
they are "rouletted" perforations or cuts, if you will.

That is one nice stamp too.
The deep color, the machining around the oval portrait area, the nice curlicues all about the stamp and the great beard on the gentleman in the portrait. Great beards are great. Wowsa.

Any catalog numbers or year dates on that first stamp or its issue?
Or any other info on the gent?

Some Brasil stamps I have.......

The old stamps have a spelling "BRASIL" and the new ones "BRAZIL".
Any feedback on when this change took place ...
Thanks in advance,
Thomas

As far as I can see, the spelling of the name of the country on its stamps has been Brasil since 1920. Prior to 1866 there was no country name on the stamps. Brazil was used from 1866 to 1918, apart from one set in 1900 (Brasil).
