I just began with this forum yesterday after stumbling across a link when I was looking for something totally unrelated. I'm impressed. My interests? A bit of everything. It used to be that I specialized in Canada and related topics but then found that it was actually more fun going back to my roots and "unspecializing" myself. Now it's a bit of everything with the fun of tracking down, or trying to track down, everything odd I run across. My last big project was attempting to sort through Chinese regionals, secret marks and the like. Challenging for an illiterate in the language. I am looking forward to having a whole new brain pool to work with. Myself? Male, early 60's (and there I may remain), semi-retired and living in Prince George, BC, Canada. Other interests include photography and road trips. These might be around our area - ghost towns and salmon runs were big this fall - or might be hopping in the car and going to visit my brother - in Toronto - or a cousin - in Texas. Luckily my wife of 40+ years enjoys these too and has her own passion, genealogy. Therefore cemetary tours are large on our list of places to go. Still looking for that avatar picture though. All the very best to everyone in 2011. Peter

Welcome backroads.
As you've discovered, SCF is a friendly place and there are bunches of knowledgeable folks here for almost every aspect of philately.
We look forward to learning more about your collection.

Welcome backroads.
Stamps and cemetary tours are quite an interesting combination -- I look forward to hearing much more about the former!

welcome. Can't wait to see and read about your collection. Your userid seems interesting to me, since I like to travel off the Interstates. Primarily by 2 lane highways such as Route 66. |

Backroads if you come to the Hudson Valley of New York State I can show you some good pre revolutionary war Dutch cemetaries..the families are still here but you can see how the names have become Anglicized.... |
