Hello,

I've been lurking here for a few weeks and finally decided to join the forum. I recently re-started collecting after about a 35 year hiatus. When I was young, I collected US plate blocks and FDCs, and amassed a collection of Bicentennial related postmarked covers from 1975-1977. I also have a lot of Czech/Slovak stamps that I collected from a pen pal in Slovakia since the mid 1970s.

Now that I'm back into collecting, I find my tastes gravitating to older (pre WW II) worldwide stamps, especially engraved issues from the British Empire. I've started buying WW mixes from Linns and ebay and have spent a number of enjoyable hours sorting and putting them into stock books. I've learned a lot from the members of this forum, and look forward to a lot of stamp collecting fun in the coming years.

Welcome Brett

Glad you decided to join us. I think you'll find that most of us collect for the pure pleasure of collecting.

Brett: do you have a scanner? I literally had to wipe the dust off mine when I came here. I'm not a stamp expert but if you lift a stamp and look behind it there is a story there.
