Found this one this morning in a dollar box, the 2 cent coil is Scott #442 perf 10 19 x 22 flat plate, the one cent imperfs are a bit more of a challange either 343 D/L wtmk 12-3-08 or 383 S/L wtmk 1-3-11 (I just realized this stamp was issued 100 years tommorrow by the way) the postmark is of no help being that it is 23-25 years after date of issue. Should I soak em and float em to find out?

Maybe I need to buy a Morley detector.

The strip of 3 could be 343V or 383V Bureau imperf coils. Do they look machine cut (total parallel sides)? Great item for dollar box.

Fred... curious beyond words and knowledge you've been at this way longer than I... HOW do you KNOW they are scissor cut? What are you seeing that some of us don't?
Thanks.
B

bfranton, if I was better at scanning you might see the uneven edges, under a microscope you can see where the cut appears to stop and then resume, you can also see that the edge is cut slightly angled and starts to touch the frame of the design. The edge of what I presume to be scissor cut has paper fibers that stick out from the edge, the opposite side appears much cleaner even though imperfections can still be seen on the edge.Being I am not a forensic scientist, my presumptions may be wrong, I am not even sure that the right edge is not sissor cut or even knife cut. If anybody can tell by the margin size please chime in.
