These NJ precancels have been a bit of a challenge for me to identify:

Perth Amboy (no lines). Is this a legitimate type of precancel or is it just a poor overprint that resulted in no lines on this example? (Could the black spot to the right of Jefferson's neck indicate that the lines were supposed to be there but the ink simply didn't adhere?)

Plainfield, NJ. These are similar (but different) precancels for which I can't seem to identify types:

I would welcome any information. Thanks.

WT1, The Plainfield's precancels are L-2 TS & L-1E,

The Perth Amboy is not one this is missing the lines, it is not a listed variety. It may be a Pseudo precancel.

Chasa may have more info on that.

Perth Amboy is PSS-704, the inking was bad and the lines got no ink, but this does not make it a separate type.

Thanks again for the help with these. I suspected the Perth Amboy precancel was just a printing fluke, but even though it's not a particularly scarce find, it still is an interesting precancel oddity to add to my NJ Type 704 precancels.
