I just wanted to say that the combined knowledge of the members of this forum is astronomical. I have learned more about collecting stamps since joining this group than I learned in 70 years of haphazard collecting.
If you have a problem someone in this group has the answer, and I want to thank you all.

Conn,

I feel the same way about SCF. My knowledge was somewhere between beginner and intermediate collector when I joined and way behind in my years of stamp collecting. Not only I have been brought up to date, but have also learned a lot about stamp collecting and understand a lot better about where stamp collecting is going in the future.

I agree with you all here on that alright.

I honestly believe that you never stop learning about this hobby no matter how 'advanced' you are.

To say the least, there is a great deal of knowledge withing the SCF ranks.

Keep up the good work.

Total agreement. The spirit of helping and info sharing here is the way philately should be - everywhere.

[However I wince with envy at the collecting, scanning, and posting abilities of some here!]

Yes, we are all together in the same wince pie.

It's comforting to know, that any question raised
will be answered well, by one of our members.
I think we still have some way to go, though,
we may be light on in some European country
specialists, who have yet to find us, it will be fantastic
when countries like Nepal and Mongolia etc are represented
by fanatics like our own Indian princely states guru,
US precancels seemed to be covered, we may need a perfin guru too.

very much Conn.
SCF is special to me for many reasons.
But the biggest one is it has improved my quality of life.
No longer an isolated collector.
People that do not collect stamps really do not like an indepth on some part of stamping. John

Yup, me too. I have learned a lot and gained some new contacts and even some friends!

@king conn - those with astronomical knowledge are busy creating topical exhibits on telescopes, star systems and galaxies. They will respond when they come back to earth.
