<edit> changed title to help me remember what I've posted. :)

I am blessed to have grandfather's 1850-1930+'s stamp collection and only recently obtained the binders with all the cut corners. My sole focus, until now, has been on the US collection. I don't even own an international catalog, but shall be looking. In the meantime, wanted to share some of my "treasures". The embossing and colors are delightful. Anything you can tell me in terms of numbering and values is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

"Del Salvador"

and here's a Canadian what's it? Others have suggested that 2 denomination embossed are pretty rare. Is it an error?

I know nothing about these nor do I have any information to impart....but they are absolutely delightful.

You are very lucky to have inherited such great albums.

Thanks for showing us.

Hi bfranton,

The Canadian 2 denomination embossed is 'U41'. The 2c red (die 3) and 1c green (die 5) embossed on a #8 envelope. Issued in 1931.

The 2009 Unitrade catalogue for Unused is C$2.00, and a used is C$5.00.

And I'm very certain there are others who also appreciate your help...:)
Just didn't want to burden anyone when I did have access to it. Thanks again Daryl.

And why, you suppose, the used more valuable than unused on the Canadian? Or did I read it incorrectly?

Barb, You make me smile..

as for the Cdn. As you have found out by now, some stamps are worth more used then unused. It all has to do with scarcity.

You have a fantastic collection of the cut squares bfranton.

It would certinly appear that your grandfather had a great love for these.
