Does anyone here use Google Docs in some way to manage their stamp collections, whether as a simple spreadsheet catalogue application or linking stamp or postmark images and text or other images or whatever? I'm sure that there are a lot of old people here (like myself) who would be interested in how the tech savvy users use Docs.

Not yet, though I have been considering it for some collaborations I've got on the go. I use it for file sharing amongst colleagues at work and in various volunteer activities. I also know that I have only scratched the surface of what is possible using this kind of "cloud" storage service.

I was thinking more along the lines of personal storage in the "cloud" rather than sharing so that when I leave my basement in the spring I might be able to fool around with my stamp stuff anywhere that I have access to a computer.

The other thing was if Rod says something erudite about one of my stamp scans and I copy his quote and save it as a text file can the two entities be linked through google docs. When I look through google's material about Docs it seems to centre on the sharing part rather than the integrating of its constituent parts.

I think I may understand,
rather than hosting, clouding allows
collaboration.
From all and sundry?

Yet another very useful service from Google.

Using Google indexer, search engine on your desktop is great. It really is a nice way of linking a lot of items together.
