Hi,
You need to search for self adhesive

e.g. https://goscf.com/t/11338&SearchTerms=adhesive

Hola,

I simply cut the piece of envelope they are attached to from the envelope, then trim the remaining envelope paper so that there is less than 1mm of paper extending beyond the stamp itself. There are threads in the forum here on this topic as well:

Or search for the word 'floating' also.

KGV Collector had a wise idea for modern Australia stamps. Just use water and dish soap (no nasty chemicals) in a specific way.

But I have not tried this on any modern stamps yet myself. Worth a try to avoid chemicals I think. Same old way, just takes a bit longer and a bit more patience.

Do you wonder if perhaps in 50 years when we have asked and answered just about every question about stamps, whether our questions and answers will just be links to previous forum posts?

Good point Smauggie. Maybe some sort of index can be made up that list popular forum threads for different subjects.

Good idea Bee See. A How To section.

Although I still feel that a question asked by a person deserves a personal response at times tailored to how they are asking or their language or level of understanding and collecting.

Sometimes all our terms are a bit much for collectors new to them.

Hi David,
Your english is far from terrible. I just happened to remember what the previous threads were discussing this so I knew what to search for.
As you can see though there are many schools of thought on this.
