Hi to all

Does anyone know what the perfin MP means on the 2d KGV of Australia

I thought of Minister of Parliment, but surely that is too simple.
Regards,

I'd suggest that it is a commercial perfin
Horam, Generally speaking you begin by assuming
a perfin comes from a major bank or insurance company,
types of businesses that need to audit their stamp
usage.
Maybe then, "Mutual Providence" ...just a guess,
one needs a catalogue to determine.
$70 each for commercial or govt perfins.

Thanks for that Rod222
It is interesting to note that the Victorian Government still perfins stamps.

Indeed Horam,
as does my club, The WA philatelic society.

BTW meant to type "Mutual Provident" not providence (groan)

It's a while since the Victorian Government used VG perfins. I had a ready source of these when my husband worked in the Department of Education. David Mallen states that the practice ceased in 1989. Check out page 3 of his article in the Stamp News November 2010.
