I think the term 'Indian red' must confuse a few non-native speakers of English too. One Chinese seller listed a stamp as the 'Indian red' variety - at the higher price of course - but the problem was, his stamp was actually red!

I believe there is no Indian here, at least I don't see one.

I always thought these two below were Indian or Copper red but
I was informed that the colour is due to oxidation.

I believe that a color is only valid for the issuing entity. I would assume that the colors designation might be pretty consistent within the British empire. Bu the color designation of U.S. (Scott) to British empire (Gibbons) don't seem to be even remotely similar. Of course, the Scott color designations are not consistent with true color descriptors.

I would be nice if all the major catalogues including SG, Scott, Michel etc would stick to the same colour designations.
A Universal colour guide is what we need.

Yeh, and for driving in cars on the same side of the road. I had great fun in New zealand a couple of years ago :S, especially on the round-abouts.

Try Crete sometime...
It would be about blind corners and two lanes and the guy who
zooms around you on the corner and it is totally blind.
Ah yes. A glass of Ouzo please. Thanks.
But I won't trade the experiences for anything.

Universal color charts?
Right after my all country, all encompassing software processing please. Thanks.
