The paper on this stamp is stiff enough for a thin postcard, so I am not sure if it is an envelope cut square of a cut from a post card. Unfortunately there is a small tear in the right side that bites into the design. If anyone can catalog this for me, I would be very appreciative.

I'm pretty sure it's from an envelope but it could be from a Post Office one or from one "stamped to order", i.e. privately produced stationery that was submitted for the official stamp to be printed. Sometimes they used different designs for eth stamps for official and stamped to order printings but sometimes they used the same or very similar ones.

Yes, the thickness of the paper is deceiving. It feels thicker than normal paper, but not quite like postcard stock. Thanks for the help.

I like the squared circle postmark from Ottery St Mary in Devon.

It would have to be from an envelope, wouldn't it? 1d was letter rate; ˝d was the postcard rate.

Yes, though in principle I believe it could have been printed to order for a foreign rate postcard. There's an example of this die (although described as embossed) listed for a 1911 postcard.
