Guatemala RA1 the red stamp was a tax on mail to rebuild post offices, RA2 the other stamp was a tax to build the Main Post Office in Guatemala city...you would think it would take quite a few centavos de Quetzal to build a large building !

Out of curiosity, Phil, the RA1 states it is for re-building. Why was the rebuilding necessary?

Rod, I guess they do not build them like that anymore...Smauggie..one cause for rebuilding would be earthquakes !
