i used to trade with a bunch of wild and crazy guys on stampoffers years ago..it was amazing what they put on the envelope for postage...U.N. stamps, Special Delivery..you name it..the USPS always delivered !
About 5 years ago I sent a small package using 2 60cent special delivery stamps. The post office informed me that "special use stamps" such as special delivery, registered or certified mail stamps could not be used fro regular postage. The clerk took a pen and morked through the "Special Delivery" inscription and said that she could then accept them. I can't quite grip the thinking behind the actions but then it is civil service.
Londonbus yes it was great fun for a while, then abruptly a couple of the sparkplugs passed away and no one could really take their place...So Here We Are !
