Hi, I'd like to join this Community.
It is only recently that I've become afflicted with philately. It all started when I received a stamp collection from an elderly relative on the condition that I would actually look at it and not immediately sell it. The first night I had the collection I was paging through his Minkus
The All American Stamp Album when I discovered this stamp that had fallen off into the margin:

The page was about "grilled" stamps, and I couldn't quite understand what that meant. Then I turned the stamp over and saw this:

And so I was hooked.
Since then, back in November, I've learned that the collection I've
inherited is a messed up collection of a few thousand of what are largely low-value stamps, with the odd surprise, like the stamp shown above, tucked into the margins. I got sucked into
ebay auctions and learned about paying too much for stamps (boy it's a rush when the auction is closing). I've learned about how to identify a "repaired" stamp the hard way. And I've learned that selling stamps can be very disappointing.
In short, I've learned I have a lot to learn. This Community looks like a great place to start.
