The face value of the stamp was a shade over $2.
A very expensive gimmick which sold at different prices throughout the Indepex exhibition.
If India Post choose to charge more for an item they especially produce for an International Exhibition and then charge more as the item is sold, then good luck to them. In my book it is blackmail and gullible collectors suffer [or are to blame, depending on which way you look at it].
Israel Post offer something akin to this at most major Exhibitions. However, while not being totally innocent, it is always inserted in the very informative show programme and is offered at the same price to everyone. Yes, they can be sold by anyone for anything at a later date but no one in their right mind would spend so much on something which were printed by the million and have little face value.
If Spock had to spend $33 for a $2 dollar item a week after the issue, then this is blackmail.
SApock, did you get anything with it ? And did you buy it from a dealer ? And most importantly, did you but to remain 'complete' in your India collection ?
