Hi
I'm returning to collecting after 25 years, I've no got my old collection so I am starting from scratch! Interested in lots of different things, but would also like to have a special collection of US stamps from the Boom and Bust 20s-30s era up to the late 70s.

daf Me too, 5 years ago, I came back to collecting after I stopped for more than 20 years. You'll see it's a friendly forum here. Any question is welcome. Enjoy the hobby and our community. |

daf Some of us are just itching to unload our old US stamps, including yours truly -- get to 50 posts, and as I understand it, I will be able unload them. I was initially toying with the idea of collecting depression era stamps, say for a certain year, like 1933 since I already collect books from that era, but just got carried away by all the other opportunities the hobby provides, especially joining this community, participating in the discussions, and learning what vast educational horizons the hobby provides when you have so many others to guide you. |

Welcome:
You'll find lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here on SCF, and there are MANY of us who, like you, returned to collecting after a few years of neglect :-)
We look forward to learning more about your collection. If you have any questions, please ask them -- we all learn from the answers to each others questions.

Hi, I've just returned to stamp collecting too. Been over 30 years since I collected. Turned 50 (gasp) last summer and my wife kept asking me about all those old binders. So I took most to a dealer who promptly gave me $20 (CDN) for the lot. Was able to buy one stamp from him. Not sure I got the best end of the deal. But now I buy lots at auctions and buy and sell on ebay, to feed my habit. Collecting Canada and US up to 1960, and have been branching off into Confederate States, Hawaii. Interesting and fun. |
