When I started showing some of the revenue stamps that I had and I was getting close to 1000, I thought I would save this question for a special number. So, the local minister has their yearly yard sale and I purchase a box of books. Near the bottom is an old stamp book with two stamps in it. A four cent Lincoln from the 50's and this. I believe it is PR3, but I as always would like some confirmation. It isn't in the best of shape, but I think it's pretty cool. Anyone to confirm please. Thanks as always (1000 posts thanks) - Jeff

Congrats on 1000. Reminds me of the old days when my day would alert us to the odometer rolling over.
and I must remember to use some colorful backgrounds from now on. It really brings out the beauty of the stamps.

Stampvirgin, can you tell if the marks make it look used. There is no gum on the back, and it certainly is worn enough, but I would not know how to tell used otherwise??

well the top is a straight line and the cut in the top RHS will lower the value.
It is folded several times so that is a good indicator.
you will have to determine what the black is on the stamp.. ink? dirt?

Great find J certainly would not call it mint F or even mint faulty. It appers to be used although some of the black has what looks to be grubby fingerprint marks but the blue over the lettering would be a good suspect for an attempt at a cancel of some sorts. Might be hard to certify if they tend to lean in favor of the lower than the higher. Either way great addition to the BOB .

That certainly is where it will sit, but it would also be nice to know. Probably not worth certifying considering what they will charge me, if it is used.
