How about sections for people who collect various cancels? Like RPOs, etc?

I think that might be a good idea Nells for as of now
cancels are scattered all over various forum sections.

Thinking maybe the cancels would have a better following / study if they had their own heading. US cancels canadian cancels, world cancels. Might be a good way for new visitors to easily search the topic and add to it. I know there are numerous threads going into much detail but they do tend to spin a little bit. There are some extremely knowledgeble folks on this board that share extensively . Of course using the search option works wonders but generally someone will post a new yet already answered question which I'm guilty for myself.

I think we are all guilty of that,
worst offenders are new members of course,
it takes a while to understand the importance
of thread heading for future searching reference.

I think that nells250's suggestion for a postmark/cancel section has merit. I have just recently devoted much more time to studying Canadian and GB postmarks and would find it more convenient to go to a specific section to discuss same rather than looking through three or more forum areas. I know you can do a search but my successes using this tool have been lukewarm.

Yes, it is self defeating.
If thread topics are designed poorly,
the search tool results will be accordingly.

Start a new thread indeed, "Postmarks : Canada"
or similar.

Even now, I am sitting here wondering if the best place to post scans of cancels is in COVERS or STAMPS...
