Stampvirgin make sure you compare the new Mystic hingeless to the Schaubek or other established hingeless albums and see if you can what extras you are getting for the additional $200. I have finished transferring my collection over from a National set and a couple of things I would have liked would be more vital information (color information for all the stamps especially) about the stamp and less filler (basic information about the stamp or stamp theme). The other is the National had several pages set aside for coil pairs and a few more varieties that I did not find in the Mystic, so now I have the Mystic Hingeless AND the National to hold, oversized because of selvage or coil pairs or certain varieties. I have not seen a Schaubek of Davo so I can't compare, but I would in the future or before I buy the next Mystic, want to see what the Schaubek offers. Just my thoughts Stampvirgin and I am sorry to rant here on your thread with such beauties that I would love to have, but I thought I would pass on my concerns. - Jeff

That is a classic problem with albums. I thought like most you get a stamp and put it ins place. soon you will find color variations and other oddities and would like to present them with the more common issues. Most standard albums limit your flexibility on this. I still use some older Scott albums and stockbook waiting for the right way to present them.

hingeless for the classics, new or used..
most of the classics are not peanuts, I have some used stamps that catalog at 800.00+ dollars.
Any stamp that catalogs more then $25.00, new or used goes into a mount.

I will even mount some that are cheap, US or world if I like the way they present themselves either with postmark or just looks.

Why go hinge-less on used Stamps ?

As others already stated and have you seen listings for used stamps that have thins. Multiple mountings from hinges cause thins of the stamp devaluing it.
I see you are advancing along nicely on the Banknote series. The big challenge are the grills on these.

Being as the Gum is already gone on used stamps, simply a quick soak and placement in a drying book is a much less expensive process for removing hinges and not causing thins. $200 for a hingeless book seems a bit steep to me personally. But then again I'm not known for my organization of my pieces and I just stick everything I have new or used in Varios. I tried to organize by release date and by sets but that went by the wayside quickly :)

Can you post a link to the Product ? I must say it seems like a great organizing item that I might be interested in as I'm trying to get all the US pieces in unused condition pre-1940.
Now if I could only hit the lottery to obtain some of these........

I just saw someone above post a $200.00 figure.

Thanks, that is a good idea and at $99 I think it's reasonable. Do you know if they include spaces for each variety type, such as the different paper types for each design ? Or do they just give you 1 slot / Position for each design ?
