Well, he only had three or four items that I needed. Oh, I bought a lot more than that, and the material will make a nice addition to my German collection, but I didn't NEED it.

He didn't have any Central America or Egypt.

From where I live, it's a 4 hour drive ( one way ) just to get to a stamp show. Rumor has it there might be one closer in the Fall so my fingers are crossed. I haven't seen any stamp shops since I was a kid and that was too long ago to remember.

sfgoda - where do you live in CA? I used to live in Alameda and went to Walnut Creek two or three times a month. There were three dealers there in the 1970's, but there's only one left now. I bought some items from him off ebay a few months ago.

I'm telling ya, Laswabbie, we may have to start our own "I Promise not to buy anymore..." club! I'm ready, especially after my very disappointing buys on ebay!

You guys don't know how lucky you are. I can't even get mounts or hinges around here I have to order everything on line.

I did get lucky at an auction and got some old Belgian stamps for $10.00.
