the lady next door is moving to be near her daughter and is having an estate sale.....wondering if its worthwhile to put out a table with some of my stamps and covers in front of the house..if I do I have to commit my time to being there..decisions decisions!!
I didnt put out my stuff..i helped the lady and her family fill a huge dump truck..things that thousands of dollars in total were paid for..i mean who takes rolls of tar paper, lumber, etc with them when they move...it was perfectly good stuff and nobody wanted to buy it so into the dump truck the stuff goes..i dont need any more space being taken up..isnt it a waste what gets dumped ???
I'm surprized that a recycling place wouln't have picked this stuff for free.
Here we have a place called Happy Harry's that will gladly pick up any construction material, old doors etc.. that no one wants for free. They'll even tear down old buildings to salvage any construction material that is usable.
"One mans trash is another's treasure" Here they have curb side pick up 3 times a year and you put you trash on the curb and the council comes in and removes it after a few days. There are a lot of people that drive around and pick up things they want and you may later see something you tossed out at a swap met or flea market. I wouldn't think it would be worth you time though to sit out all day waiting, and waiting, and waiting...
Diane and Bandicoot, this woman was not prepared ..her daughter lives 300 miles away and on her last visit out there the woman purchased a house..now shes in a hurry to sell..given time we could have distributed things to thrift shops etc..the yard sale was a disaster..very quiet...we used to have curbside pickup years ago but I guess it got too expensive for the town to continue ...
