I jumped right into the general forums before posting here, but better late than never!

My name is Brian Riley. I don't care if you use my real name or my displayed user name. I am 41 year old mechanic from Portland, OR.

I have been collecting stamps since I was 10 years old with a break in the action for about 10 years. I specialize US, Canada, Germany, and Italy, but I will collect 19th century items from any and all countries.
My passion lies mainly with the US 1869 pictorials and I collect all manner of multiples, cancelations, shades, grills, proofs, and essays. My quest to own every variety of 114 and 114 essay is probably going to bankrupt me, but since I have no dependants, I can probably get away with it for a little while longer ...

This year has seen me stray a little from the 1869s in favor of filling my US albums with all VF+ MNH stamps from the year 1923 and up while they are still "affordable". And to all the dealers out there selling gem 100 items for 1000x listed cat value, I hate you all

That's it in a nutshell. I look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks and months. Cheers!

Brian

Brian, welcome to SCF. I collect US pre-1940. I saw the 1869's you posted in the SON cancels, very nice. I look forward to seeing more of your collection.
