Hi to all

I am new to collecting USA Stamps, but the grills on the older ones totally confuse me.

So I am going to ask some silly questions.

How do I know if a stamp has a grill, can it been seen from the front or only the back? How do I know what type of grill it is?
Regards

Horamakhet

Hi Horamakhet,

The reverse of a grilled stamp is often the easier vantage point to determine the type of grill employed.

Grills are differentiated by the type of impression left by the grill, and the grid size of the grill mark.
