These two appear to have the arms of the Vatican on them, but I cannot tell what they are. Does someone know the Scott number for these and maybe a near value. If I am not going to be rich, can I at least go out for a beer??

Listed under Italian states as Roman States. Yes that's the Papal arms. The imperf is 1867 SG#12a? (lilac gray paper) and the other is perf 13 1868 SG#21
Vatican city didn't start issuing stamps until 1929.
Very cool.
Sorry I'm looking at a 1994 catalogue, value wouldn't do you much good.

Ooh, that SG21 is beautiful! The SG12 is great too! I can only speak in superlatives!

Reprints abound for the Papal States, not to mention the forgeries. At least 4 different reprints that I know of for the centesimi issues.

Looks like both of yours are reprints. The Vatican Philatelic Society provides some basic info for detecting reprints. The only question is, which of the 4 reprints you have.

On the 5c stamp, I cannot measure the perforation. However, it should be an irregular 13.25 for the originals. Your perfs appear very regular.

On the 3c stamp, the horizontal dividing lines are broken as they cross the vertical dividers. On the originals, the horizontal lines should be continuous.
