I received this at a stamp show in Columbus Ohio in 1993. I believe this was the first year it was issued. Subsequent reprints have updated "1775- ...." year.

Russ this is no joke, after reading so much of the wealth of information that you have. Would you ever want to sell a compiled dvd of your research as I would pay greatly for it. It would be a shame to lose all of that effort and work.

Then I realised that most of his knowledge is in his head and he only goes to his books for refreshers. I think the BEST thing would be to have him write a book. . Then I got to thinking that here on SCF we have several very knowledgeable collectors and they get together and collaborate on a book, call it "The SCF Guru Knowledge Base". OK the title needs some work.

I do enjoy picking up stamp literature. This weekend I picked up two books at an exhibition. One was about post routes at sea in Rogaland (where I live), and the other one was a new book about post routes to Stavanger from 1652. It was written by a member at the stamp club I attend, and the book is also about the area I live in. I also picked up a few years of Norsk Filatelistisk Tidsskrift (the magazine issued for members of the Philatelist Association in Norway) from around year 2000. A lot of interesting articles there.

Other than that I have a few Stanley Gibbons catalogues (Simplified World and the Commonwealth and Colonies for example), Unitrade for Canada, Norgeskatalogen for Norway, AFIA for Europe etc. I also have a book about the postmarks of Rogaland, precancel catalogues for Canada and the United States, a catalogue of everything postal (except the stamps) in Norway etc.

My library is dwarfed by what I see here, but I did not see either the Frost Special Airship and Postcard Catalog (2005) or the Sieger Zeppelin Post Katalog (German language).
I would be glad to share anything of use in these.

Alright, I know these are old issues, but I just ordered the 6 volume set of Scott's 2009 standard for $58.36 shipped.
It's about time I suppose.

At the last stamp show in Troy, NY, the dealer Doubleday was giving out dozens of free books. I had to be quick, but I picked up a better Facit catalog, Netherland Special Catalog and United States Postal Card Catalog.
