Ok all you experts.
I've uncovered a block of 10 unused/mint? 1949 George VI which have stuck together. Is there anyway to unstick them without ruining the gum?
Soaking would eliminate it completely, I'm sure. Is steaming a better bet? Or is it a lost cause? They'll just end up an 'unused block of ten, no gum'

Try freezering them in a clean freezer bag filled with air (to cushion the block). This will dry out the gum and may permit safe separation.

Not an expert, but...

Anything you do/try to unstick them, will at the very least result in heavily disturbed gum.

If they are not stuck fast (like stuck on an envelope), you can try putting it in a ziplock bag and then freezing it. Sometime you can pull them apart after they have been frozen. However, be careful about perf separations.

The conventional method is to use a "sweat box". Don't leave it in there too long. Once the gum gets soft, then start pulling them apart. Again, be careful of perf separations.

Again, any method will result in heavily disturbed gum.

Given the catalog value of those stamps, probably not worth the effort. Since you are in Canada, I would think this would be a candidate for postage.

Basically a small glass house with a
wet tray and put out into the sun for awhile.

I would go for it, given that it would be a good experience. I agree with k, you will not be able to get them separated without finding yourself with disturbed gum.
