Took me a bit to figure out what is meant by "the droppings of sweet oil". This would mean the lowest quality of olive oil (waste oil). It would still be useful as an emulsifier, combining the other ingredients.

Thanks Smauggie,
I wasn't aware of what that was,
thinking perhaps rose oil.
I had not the time to search.

I am a big fan of Linseed oil
brought up my redgum floors beautifully,
works wonders with hammer handles,
now using it on my fretted brickwork,
apparently preserves mortar.
(but still roadtesting it)

Seems "sweet oil" belongs to the oxymora list :

Only the droppings, Rod. The oil itself more than lives up to its name.
