Hey all!
For all of you who buy stamps on Delcampe, you might want to watch out for this seller. Here is a listing I came across and it raised so many red flags, first he was saying it was a Sc#47 with a cancel? I believe that there has never been a #47 that was issued for postal use. Second the stamp looks like it was drawn buy a child using crayons. I have reported this listing to Delcampe, and the seller, now lest sit back and see what happens. For some reason I can not open the add image? So please follow link provided.

I found the Add image box hidden under several other open pages.

This is most definitely a forgery. It's the second such forgery of a Scott 39 (or #47 reprint) I have encountered on Delcampe, although this is a different seller than before. I pointed out to the last seller that he had a forgery and he removed the listing.

An editorial sidenote:

Forgeries abound no matter what your preferred auction site. That being said, forgeries are far more prevalent on foreign auction sites simply because they are newer and have less members. ebay has watchdog groups all over the world and are quick to point out issues like this. It will be years before Delcampe is on par with ebay.

Drain!
Believe me I know the hazards of buying and selling stamps on line, especially from overseas web sites. Im intention is not to slam Delcampe over this. My point is to make others in the hobby aware of particular items and sellers. As we all no, with the advent of internet auction style selling and the amount of material being bought and sold has made the local home town stamp dealer is virtually a thing of the past. I feel very strongly about this and I only wish more people would join in and try help make the stamp industry a safer place for all concerned.
Always at your service
