For anyone interested in new US issues, the Second Quarter Edition of the USA Philatelic Catalog is now out and available for download at this link:

I find it interesting that it shows a lot of preliminary designs for the "Go Green" stamps that were not accepted in the final printing, but deserved honorable mention.

I used to get these in the mail -- but I must have fallen off their mailing list?

(And I do order occasionally)

I have never placed an order but always get the catalogue in the mail. I am a great fan of the publication and have stated so a number of times on the forum.
I keep them all too, in a special folder.

I find that ordering is a bit restrictive as one needs to order in strips,Blocks and panes for many items.

I am not aware that the USA Philatelic Catalog has any archived issues online, probably because they don't want to confuse customers with older issues illustrating stamps no longer available from SFS (Stamp Fulfillment Services) in Kansas City, Missouri.

However, the US Postal Service's companion periodical "Beyond the Perf", which was started in 2009, does have an archive of past issues at this link:

USA PHILATELIC 2011/ Volume 16/ Quarter 3

I have just received my copy in the mail and once again, and for the umpteenth time, the cover is amazing. For consistently superb cover designs, this publication has to be No.1.

Well done USA PHILATELIC.

I'll have to look out for my copy. I haven't seen it yet (haven't received today's mail) and just the old Quarter 2 edition is all that's available on line as of now.

This indirectly relates to the subject, so I thought I'd post it.

Ever hear of the "The Journey Group" before? They are apparently responsible for publishing USA Philatelic, based on this case study:

http://www.customcontentcouncil.com...a-philatelic

Interesting how the company the USPS (and the National Postal Museum) hired is so involved in religious-oriented work as described on their website:

http://www.journeygroup.com/what/#clients

I wonder if there's anything published that suggests what the cash-strapped USPS pays for this service (must be expensive), and whether they can claim increased stamp and postal product sales because of it.
