This stamp is not a 37 but rather a 70 or 78. Unfortunately, I can't help you with the color. But as for value? Unless it's one of the more rare color variations, it's probably worth $1 in that condition. A sound copy would be worth a minimum of $250 (for the most common color variety).

Items like this are great to sell as part of small filler lots on ebay and whatnot. Poor copies as individual lots are a tough sell (including US classics) ... even if listed at a penny.
As for throwing it out? No way! A true philatelist preserves stamps, not destroy. Who knows ... a century from now, this may be the only remaining copy and will be priceless!
