At 8pm this evening, here in Israel and at other times in other parts of the world, ceremonies were taking place to remember those Millions of Innocent people who lost their lives in Death camps during WWII.
This day always falls one week before Memorial Day [for fallen soldiers] and Independence Day [A day of Celebration].
The importance of the day, the Ceremony will never be forgotten, and yet it has rarely featured on Israel Stamps.
Below are two examples. One a M/S from 1983 simply entitled 'The Holocaust' and a 1988 issue commemorating Anne Frank, the Dutch teenager who kept diaries of her ordeal during the Nazi occupation of Holland, and who was murdered just before the Wars end.
Let us not forget.
