I've found a fun way to promote stamp collecting on Facebook and it only takes a couple of minutes each day. To begin with, I google the phrase, "This day in history" and find something interesting that happened. Then I do another google search for a stamp to go with it. Then I post both on my Facebook page. I have gotten a lot of nice comments from people who aren't stamp collectors. My goal is to show people that there are so many good stamps out there and start buying more commemoratives. Here's the posting for today: This Day in History: Audrey Hepburn born, 1929 I don't know if this could be applied to other social websites, but I thought I would throw the idea out there. Have a great day!

this is great if we all joined as friends each day some one could take a turn or a few could at once and then we could copy and paste it from each other to share and keep it going!! |

I think this is a great idea.
Just today one of my kids asked me if there was a stamp about stamp collecting. And sure enough, I have one in my us collection.

Excellent and fun idea! I'm going to start doing it too! One question: where do you get the stamp images? Do you scan them or is there a site or software you use? |

Just posted to my facebook profile with an image of a Jersey stamp booklet cover showing a cartographic rendering of the English Channel. On May 6, 1994, the tunnel connecting England and France beneath the channel was opened. Here's the image: (sorry about the eBid logo, I am not selling this philatelic item) Can't wait until tomorrow! |

StampStudy -- thanks for sharing the stamps. And please forgive me when I say, those might be the worst designs I've ever seen on a GB stamp |

Yirmeyahu,
Sorry for the delay in responding. We've been out of town.
As for your question, I just find the images online. I don't know if that violates any copyright laws or not!
