Yeah, I thought about doing that one too! I love Irving Berlin's music. In fact, when I was in college, I wrote a research paper on the influence of his music in American culture.
Great choice spanishmoss! |

Yirmeyahu, Wow! I bet that would be a great paper to read. My all-time favorite is Cole Porter. |

That's a beautiful stamp, Yirme! Today in history, 1954-- Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas was decided. The U.S. Supreme Court declared racial separation in public education unconstitutional. The ruling initiated the beginning of mandatory integration of public schools. |

Hi Bear,
The Scott number is 3187f. It is from the Celebrate the Century, 1950s set.

spanishmoss, I really like the Brown v. Board of Education stamp. Very nice! Here's mine for today: On May 17, 1911, Irish actress Maureen O'Sullivan was born. O'Sullivan played the role of Jane Parker opposite Johnny Weismuller in Tarzan the Apeman in 1932 and more recently was seen in Peggy Sue Got Married in 1985 where she played the role of Elizabeth Alvorg. She died on June 23, 1998. My bad! was just informed by a fellow community member that the photo on the stamp here is of Vivien Leigh not Maureen O'Sullivan. |
