Here is an enhanced image. The black line are where I think the horizontal row is. The white dots are the vertical. The area on the left in the white boundary is where I think the edge of the grill is as the image is strong and I can not find a distinct rectangular indication outboard of it.
Yesterday I sent several images to Bill Weiss using his identification service. This morning he informed me that he needed to see the actual item to be certain of his identification so I'm sending off this cover and one with a grilled 2c Jackson for full expertization. I'll update this thread once I receive his assessment(s).
