Kind of... Of Finnish origin, definitely. But not a stamp (and AFAIK not a cut out from postal stationary either).

The emblem/design (with this specific inscription & style) has been used (in the past) by some Finnish stamp companies, and at least by one philatelic society.

I've never seen it on single piece like this. If there's a glue on back then it could be a promotional seal (to be sticked on back of letter). Otherwise it's simply something that's been cut out from stamp album page, catalog, cover or other source that has had the emblem printed.

It could very well be some sort of exhibition memorabilia too.

Just my 2 cents of worth...

Lockumup, it would be nice if you would consider
changing your thread title to something like..
"Finland label ID", so future students can search
and find your example.

Possibly aligned with a Finland parcel post impression,
label, stationery or whatever.

I have had a similar label sitting in my "cinderellas"
without ID

The vignette is similar, posthorns etc

The paper is very thin but strong and has silk fibers. The back has a majority of the area that appears glossy (thin remanent of glue.

Absolutely no idea Lockemup,
I know very litt;le about scandinavian philately.

Lockemup...a heads up!
when you post a scan, always try to give each image a
new and distinct ID name...like egeheyete22
or, if you post say two scans called "Image01"
the later image will replace your previous image...

I suggest you open the "Fish" thread
your images have been replaced I think.
Cheers

A reprint / forgery of 1845 Finnish 10k Porto Stempel stationary.
The real things are extremely rare & expensive. For short overview see Finnish Post website: http://www.posti.fi/english/postmus...stamps/gems/

No.... The seal is the the emblem of "Suomen Filatelistiseura ry", one of the oldest stamp clubs in Finland. Likely this is some sort of "fundraiser seal" sold to members or some national exhibition.
