U.S. #2093 20c Roanoke Voyages, 07/13/1984.
Bought stamps in Manteo, then started the UO trek!
This item serviced in Raleigh, NC.
Mailed as Certified Mail.
With stamps totaling the exact cost for service!
Only 15 were made, all through mailstream.
(Mailing address covered up for 'security').

Some rascals might give umbrage at the slogan "America's 400th Anniversary".

Perf14: No problem!

The cachet at left is my second 'Whitecraft' cachet for the 1984 Roanoke Voyages stamp.

After having driven from Manteo, NC on the First Day (07/13/1984), I affixed (7) Roanoke stamps and one #796 5c Virginia Dare stamp -- with the amount of postage affixed meeting the requested delivery service of First Class and Certified Mail. It was mailed at Raleigh, NC, and delivered by the USPS to the addressees. Bonafide proof that at least this item wasn't serviced using the grace period allowed for sending in for cancellations days after the actual FDOI.
