Came across this cover and thought I'd post it. While it's not early enough to be on the recent thread about 19th century covers, this one is still rather early (1915) and postmarked East Hampton, NY (an affluent town) and addressed to Newport, RI (another affluent town) ... and "in care of" one of the members of the wealthy Vanderbilt family:

Some research on the addressee dated to this 03/25/1921 newspaper article ... about 6 years later than the previously posted cover. Apparently attained minor celebrity status, but was related to an affluent New York family.
