O22 Or O103

I can't tell which it is...any assistance?

You can only tell so much from a scan, but I would suggest O22 is the accurate listing. My reasoning is that the O103 is apparently a scarce variety to the point that the Scott Specialized Catalog doesn't even recognize a used copy value. Also, the O103 would have to be on "soft porous paper" as opposed to the O22 (which is the stamp I believe you have) which is said to be on "thin hard paper".

Thank you wt1, you are most probably right, I was trying to determine the texture of the paper and the feel is like thin hard paper as you said, my sample feels a little bit "crisp" indeed. I think porous paper feel would be more "fragile" and easier to "bend" at touch.

This is one of those things that is difficult to understand UNTIL you have the two stamps side-by-side -- then you can see it.

I had a difficult time grasping the distinction between "thin hard paper" and "soft porous paper." After I finally held both in my hand, it was much easier.

This is one of the times when a fellow collector, local dealer, or stamp club can be a huge asset. Unfortunately for me, I believe I'm the lone collector in my neck of the woods.

Well, if you feel that you are alone I can tell you that in Panama is almost impossible to find another collector, there is supposed to be a Panama Philatelic Society but until now I didn't was able to find anyone of those guys. To make a long history short I wasn't able to find empty albums in order to classify and storage my stamps in a proper way, that says it all, right? :(
