I have been through the book several times and think this belongs 1942-1946, but part of the overprint is missing and I cannot find one in the book that matches. Any help with a Scott Number would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - Jeff
Postage stamp that appears to be overprinted for postal savings use. However, I have not seen this particular overprint before, and the word choice combination is atypical of other postal savings overprints. It will not be listed in Scott.
All 4 characters are readily recognizable, including the weak bottom left character ("jian"). As mentioned before, you will not find this overprint in the Scott catalog. I stated that it "appears" to be a postal saving stamp because this particular combination of 4 characters is not one found on the various other postal savings overprints. If it were not for that atypical combination, I would say for certain that it is a postal savings stamp.
I'm gonna save your pics for my files, too. I've never seen that combination. The upper left character is not commonplace for 4-character postal savings overprints. Also, the sequence of the 4 characters is also not commonplace.
