Cancellations Where To Find Info

any one know some good sources on line to find unusual cancellations info. Here is one and I have many more.

Interesting piece there lockumupthrowawaykey. I am by no means an expert in this area, but to me it looks like a Nazi souvenir of the annexation of Sudetanland in 1938.

The cancellation is Asch, in the Czech Republic. In 1938 it was part of Sudetanland in Czechoslovakia. It is dated 3 X 38 (3 October 1938), the day Adolf Hitler passed though the town following the Nazi annexation of Sudetanland. The date in red on the card, 21 September 1938, must also have some significance.

The stamp is Czech, which is interesting, as Asch had just been annexed by Germany. I wonder when German stamps and cancels were issued there to replace the Czech ones?

I could have all this wrong of course...

Plateflaw, Thanks it gives me something to go on. I have not really collected for unusual cancellations much, but some of them are more interesting then the stamp that is on the cover.
