These cam from a local collection . I havn't even taken the time to read the letters yet. From Lt Thompson to Detroit Michigan (a few miles from me) and one C/O a lady from my city. Not sure if readable from the scans but I'll work on them.

Can anyone tell me how to find information for the soldier from these letters? I've googled name rank service numbers ect.
Letters are signed Ernie so I assume Ernest is first name , Last name Thompson R.A.M.C 7261786 . One letter has rank as Staff Sgt and another as Cpl . There is also I.B.G.H BT India Command. Would really like to find the person or family . I know thse covers and letters have philatelic value but really think they belong in the family if possible.

I was going to sell them with all the india stamps but after reading the letters I want to at least attempt to track down more info and maybe return to the soldier if still alive or family member. Surprised entering the info I have, hasn't pointed me in a decent direction.
