I found this amongst my oddities stuff and thought you might be entertained by it. Actually can anyone give me any insight on why this even exists? It's a souvenir sheet for US President Gore that was to be issued in Liberia.

Never seen it before. My guess is it was a hastily printed item before the final election results came in. No matter, it is a curious piece.

Did you happen to notice they got the number of stripes in the US Flag wrong, too!

The link mhc99 provided is much better than this, but it just goes to show that people are attempting to sell these "errors" at top prices as this ended ebay link would suggest ... note they never got any bids on it either at the price they were asking:

I got it for a buck a long time ago! lol

[EDIT] HOLY COW! I just read that ebay listing....what a rip-off! lol I don't collect foreign stamps (non-U.S.) and was thinking of doing something with it- who knows what yet?

I'd be willing to trade for a couple 3-4 "gap fillers" in the 40 -50's era used or unused US commemorative issues if at all possible? Especially the Poultry industry FDC or Block of four. [the brown-ish one with the hen on it] Scott# 968

Interesting story! Are the stamps considered "wallpaper"? After all these years I STILL am not so sure with some countries!
