I got these for a whopping $5.00 at a garage sale today. I can't believe I got them so cheap. I have put a few pics of the box I got.

Thats the way to do it...people at yard sales are usually just looking to unload..obviously the stamps did not mean much to the sellers..a stamp collector can always sniff out a deal and jump on it !

Wow, I saw an 1882 cover! Great stuff! Man, oh, man! Wish I could find a yard sale like that--I'd be happy with an album with just a few stamps in it--what a haul! Congrats! Such great history!
Thanks for sharing!

Very nice find indeed! I can't believe they let all that go for five bucks. But on the other hand, I know at my last garage sale I sold some stuff for consierably below what it was worth, simply because I wanted to get rid of it and the alternative was the local Humane Society Thrift Shop (where a bunch of it went anyway after the garage sale was over).

I've been itching to go seeking treasures at garage sales lately myself, but I don't think I'll be able to justify bringing more "clutter" into our house, right after we have just "de-cluttered" it in preparation for sale and moving.

A stamp-collecting friend (actually his wife) found a UV lamp with both kinds of UV and a magnifying glass in the middle for 6 bucks - it retails for 300 or more - at a yard sale. It was in mint condition.

Charles.
